An overview of position publication types

When creating a position, you choose where the vacancy will be published. Each publication type controls how and where candidates can view and apply for the role.

Publication types

The following publication types are available when creating or editing a position.

  • External portal

    Publishes the vacancy to your external careers portal

  • Internal portal

    Publishes the vacancy to your internal careers portal.

  • Agency

    Enabled publishing to a supplier via external posting on the position in the CSM portal.

  • Direct sourcing

    Enables manual candidate entry for the position in the CSM portal.


Publication configuration

Each publication type has its own configuration options. Depending on the publication type, you can set the following:

  • Additional position details
    Provide extra information specific to the selected publication.

  • Publication date
    Define when the vacancy becomes visible.

  • Closing date
    Set when the vacancy is no longer visible and applications cannot be submitted.

  • Application process
    Select the questionnaire that candidates complete when applying.

  • Selection process
    Choose the workflow hiring managers follow.

📌 Note: Internal and Agency portals are only visible if these modules are enabled and configured in your system.
